6JB6/A Tube List

Item Description Price Each
6JB6 Sylvania brand  or other brand such as RCA, etc. manufactured by Sylvania $35
6JB6 GE, RCA or other USA MANUFACTURED tube $30
matching Matching is available for these tubes at an extra cost of $5.00 per tube.  I measure the characteristics of each tube at the actual operating voltages used in Drake equipment.  You may receive tubes with different brand names on them as "matched".  Don't be alarmed.  Since manufacturers sold inventory to each other, it is very common to see a Sylvania made tube branded as RCA, etc.  I make sure that tubes matched are always made by the same manufacturer.  $5.00 per tube

A word about the use of Sylvania tubes in Drake Equipment:

It is a myth that you need to use Sylvania tubes in Drake equipment.  I have owned many different pieces of Drake equipment and have NEVER had anything but stellar performance from ALL American made 6JB6's....RCA, GE and Sylvania.  It is of my opinion that Drake had an exclusive deal with Sylvania and, of course, wanted to be the only supplier of tubes to their customers.  Therefore, they insisted that only Sylvania tubes worked in their equipment.  It is ultimately up to you what brand you buy, but you will save some money by using tubes other than Sylvania.
