Hickok 600/605 Tube Testers
The 605 differs from the 600 in that it has the added
feature of a multi-tester which tests voltage, current, resistance and capacitance in
addition to testing tubes. The 600 (605) and the 600A (605A) differ quite
a bit inside. The grid signals are different and switching
is a bit different. Therefore the 600A settings cannot be
used for the 600.
Features
Measures mutual transconductance which is the best type of tube quality
test
Tests most common tubes except compactrons and nuvistors
Reads tube quality on the meter with bad-?-good scale or measure
transconductance directly
Reads shorts with a neon bulb indicator
Sensitive gas test
Has 4, 5, 6, 7 pin, 7 & 9 pin minature, subminiature, octal and
loctal sockets
605 has multi-tester which also measures voltage, current, resistance,
capacitance and inductance
Volts: 0-1000 AC-DC in four ranges each (20,000 ohms/volt DC, 1000
ohms/volt AC)
Resistance: 0.1 to 100 megohms (Center scale 25, 2500 and 500,000 ohms)
Inductance to 70 Henries (By use of furnished conversion chart)
Capacitance: 50 uf, 5 uf, as low as .001 uf
Current: DC 10, 100, 500 MA
Decibels -10 to +50
Built in roll chart has common tube settings
